Govt has undertaken Major road development works in city. City roads continues to focus on pedestrian-centric architecture and design. These combine street landscape and hardscape aesthetics with practical considerations of user behavioral change.

Bengaluru has 1500 km of major roads of which 500 km is being asphalted afresh. Along with asphalting, footpath and drain, works are also being taken up. In constituency, majority of inner roads are asphalted & concretized. Ward Corporators ensure the roads are in good condition and Civic utilities are laid under the roads.


Cleaning of Debris

Bengaluru generates about 4000 - 4500 tons of Solid Waste daily. The BBMP carries out collection, street sweeping, transportation, processing and disposal of Municipal Solid Waste from generators. BBMP has a system of door to door collection for collecting the MSW. The MSW collected has to be processed before land filling. BBMP has taken several steps to streamline the MSW management in the city. In constituency too, waste is collected on a daily basis by Pourakarmikas. Apart from this, the local corporators carry on Intensive cleaning programmes occasionally in various wards for removal of garbage & debris.

Storm Water Drains in city were designed in keeping with the three valleys that run across the city --- Vrishabhavathy, Hebbal and Koramangala - Challaghatta. They served the purpose so long as the population of the city was within a certain limit. The city drainage system comprises major drains, roadside drains and shoulder drains. Also, Government is working upon sustainable drainage management system in city of 842 km, including primary & secondary drains.
